The Blue Hue

Today I’m feeling rather blue. Sad, discouraged and really missing people in my life. So, I thought my post should reflect how I’m feeling. It’s all about the blue hue! Some ‘blue’ poetry interspersed amongst the pretty things. Enjoy!

It is blue-butterfly day here in spring,
And with these sky-flakes down in flurry on flurry
There is more unmixed color on the wing
Than flowers will show for days unless they hurry. – Robert Frost

One of my favourite blue dresses:

Roll on, thou deep and dark blue ocean-roll!
Ten thousand fleets sweep over thee in vain;
Man marks the earth with ruin-his control
Stops with the shore;-upon the watery plain
The wrecks are all thy deed, nor doth remain
A shadow of man’s ravage, save his own,
When for a moment, like a drop of rain,
He sinks into thy depths with bubbling groan,
Without a grave, unknell’d, uncoffin’d, and unknown. -Lord George Byron

From the lightning in the sky
As it passed me flying by,
From the thunder and the storm,
And the cloud that took the form
(When the rest of Heaven was blue)
Of a demon in my view.  -Edgar Allan Poe
